  • What is telehealth therapy?
I am a Certified Telehealth Practitioner, having trained in online mental health delivery, and fully believe the approach is effective. Telecounseling or online counseling, is a form of mental health service delivery that utilizes digital communication technologies. This approach enables you to access counseling remotely, circumventing the need for in-person sessions. Through HIPPA compliant video conferencing, you can engage in therapeutic sessions from the convenience of you home. I will send you the link in your secure portal before we meet, and I ask that you have a safe, secluded, and stationary space. It is ideal for those who prefer flexibility while accessing mental health care.
  • What is walk and talk beach therapy?
After our phone consultation, we will have our initial session virtually. After our intake session, if walk and talk beach therapy is appropriate for your concerns, we will meet at the beach for our follow-up sessions. We will meet at Old Salt Park. The address is Hammock Beach Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32137
  • Is walk and talk beach therapy confidential?
The beach, though offering a serene and natural backdrop, is a public space, and encounters with others are possible. While we'll make efforts to choose secluded areas for our discussions, it's crucial to acknowledge that privacy may be different from that of a traditional office setting. Other beachgoers might be present, and, despite our best efforts, aspects of our conversation might be overheard. I am committed to taking measures to minimize these risks, such as adjusting our voices and changing topics when necessary. Our discussions will always be approached with utmost sensitivity, but it's essential to be aware of the nature of the outdoor environment and its potential impact on confidentiality. Before we proceed, I invite you to share any concerns you may have or discuss any preferences you might have regarding our therapeutic conversations on the beach. Your comfort and understanding are priorities, and I am here to address any questions or considerations you may have about the unique dynamics of beach walk and talk therapy.
  • Do I need to bring anything?
You can bring your water, phone, and comfortable walking shoes. You can skip the shoes for the sand, if preferred!
  • What happens if it rains?
It happens! Not a problem. We can move to online, or reschedule for a clearer day. I will always confirm with you the day of our session.
  • Do you accept insurance?
I do accept a few insurances, as well as Lyra. I also offer Superbills as well as Private Pay options.
  • What are your fees?
Individual 50-minute sessions are $165.00. Couple 50-minute sessions are $195.00. Extended sessions lasting 85-90 minutes are $200.00. I also supervise students in training, and these are $125.00 per session.
  • How many sessions should I expect to attend?
Great question! The duration of therapy and the number of sessions needed can vary widely depending on various factors, including the nature and severity of the issues being addressed, the therapeutic approach used, and your individual needs and goals. There is not a one-size-fits-all answer, as therapy is a highly individualized process. We will work collaboratively to establish treatment goals and discuss the expected duration of therapy. Brief interventions may range from a few sessions to a few months, while longer-term therapy could extend for several months or even years. The frequency of sessions can also vary, with some individuals attending weekly sessions, while others may choose a less frequent schedule, like once a month. Ultimately, the decision about the duration of therapy is often based on ongoing assessment and discussion between us, and we will establish this the very first time we meet. As therapy progresses, we may reassess goals and make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed. It is essential that you communicate openly with me about your progress, concerns, and any changes in their therapeutic needs. I both invite, and encourage, this authentic dialogue.
  • What is the first session like?
Again, great question! We will meet for approximately 50-55 minutes. My goal is learn about what brings you in, ensure we create a safe and supportive environment, and establish your goals and the frequency of our sessions. I will gather a bit of background information; however, I will have most of what we need to start since I send over all paperwork both virtually, and in advance. You will have a HIPPA secure portal to complete your paperwork in, as well as a portal messenger to reach me during my business hours.
  • What are your hours?
I offer telehealth sessions Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00AM – 4:00PM. Beach Walk-and-Talk Therapy is available select mornings beginning at 9:00AM and throughout the day on Friday.
