About2

A few personal details about me, as my philosophy is that vulnerability is a strength. We all have a narrative, or life story, with many chapters. As we learn to navigate our world, we learn to identify those people we can be vulnerable with, and share our narrative with. I became a licensed counselor and supervisor so that I join others as they grow, and share this narrative. I subsequently pursued a higher level of education to offer efficacious treatment approaches.

As a Florida native, I have lived across the state (Jacksonville, Orlando, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater), in addition to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The traumas we face, and also rebuild from, inevitably shape us. With a little self-compassion, and a little help along the way, maybe we can experience some post-traumatic growth as well? Post-traumatic growth may follow a traumatic event, and can shape our belief system, or the way we navigate our world. Trauma comes in many forms, as does healing. Perhaps our trauma is a career change, infidelity, infertility, sadness, trouble with finding a life purpose, financial stress, loss of a loved one, loss of a pet, sexual abuse, substance use, eating disorders, and rumination over past mistakes, as well as many others not on this list. I have spent over a decade working with individuals from many backgrounds that have faced a variety of concerns in each of the places I lived.
